Culture from Home

For more than two weeks, we have mostly been observing the world from within our four walls. What initially was an interesting new experience is slowly becoming a test of endurance for many. Whether it's the sudden, constant proximity to family that throws us off balance, the constant solitude, the uncertainty about the future, or simply the lack of structure in our new daily lives. Everyone has their own challenges to contend with.

For me personally, each day brings its own challenges and thus its own insights. Sometimes I feel like I'm an experiment in my own test tube. I constantly discover new traits in myself, develop theories about my behavior, test them, and often discard them completely. This emotional roller coaster can sometimes throw me off track quite a bit. I can imagine that most people feel quite similar.

With Netflix and social media, it's quite easy to distract yourself from this world, but it's not truly fulfilling in the long run. To fill my free time with something more substantial, I've done some research. Fortunately, the cultural creators of this world are innovative, so I've compiled a selection of varied links to art, culture, music, fashion, and entertainment for you.

Virtual Art

A few weeks ago, NZZ Bellevue presented a wonderful selection of ways to virtually visit various museums around the world. I browsed a bit and was particularly impressed by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The wonderful selection of Impressionists in a great atmosphere is very well suited for a visit from the sofa.

Business of Fashion Podcast

Business of Fashion continues to impress with first-class reporting and exciting articles. A must for anyone in the industry, but not always easy to digest. However, what I can recommend to everyone are the Business of Fashion Podcasts. In the current issue, trend forecaster Li Edelkoort reports on her observations and her expectations for the future.

Late Night from Home

A little humor is also needed these days. For me, the best cheer-up comes from the various Late Night Hosts, who are now producing their shows very sympathetically and uncomplicatedly from home. Jimmy Kimmel brings particular joy with his unforced honest humor.
